Faenza, March 25th, 2025 | From April 6th to 9th, the Consorzio Vini di Romagna returns to Vinitaly for the 57th edition of Italy’s leading international wine exhibition. Representing 18 wineries from across the region, the Consorzio will welcome visitors at Pavilion 1 – Emilia-Romagna (Stand C2/E2), for an immersive journey through the authentic winemaking traditions of Romagna.
ROMAGNA SANGIOVESE AND ITS SUBZONES
Vinitaly is a prime opportunity to explore and taste Romagna Sangiovese through the lens of its unique terroirs. Each subzone is distinguished by the silhouette of its ‘Rocca‘—a historical fortress, a symbol of the numerous imposing strongholds scattered throughout Romagna. The Sangiovese wines from each subzone reveal distinctive characteristics and nuances, forming a rich mosaic that highlights the extraordinary diversity of Romagna Sangiovese.
The Rocche di Romagna project provides a clear narrative of the subzones and their value. This initiative increases awareness and interest in these wines and their territories, showcasing the remarkable work carried out over the past decade to elevate Romagna Sangiovese. The result is a collection of prestigious labels that revitalize the region’s longstanding tradition of exceptional red wines.
A SPACE FOR ROMAGNA’S FINEST WINES
Beyond its flagship Romagna Sangiovese DOC, Vinitaly 2025 offers a unique opportunity to discover the full range of Romagna’s wine excellence. At dedicated tasting desks, visitors will experience the region’s DOP and IGP wines, guided by passionate producers who seamlessly blend tradition with innovation.
A standout among them is Romagna Albana DOCG, the first Italian white wine to earn Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) status. Known for its remarkable structure and elegance, its dry version surprises with a balance of freshness and depth . Also featured is Novebolle Romagna DOC Spumante, the symbol of Romagna’s sparkling wine tradition— a contemporary expression of a winemaking tradition that dates back to the late 19th century. Completing the selection are Rimini Rebola and other indigenous white and red varieties, each offering vibrant and versatile expressions of Romagna’s diverse terroir.
