The DOC recognition is quite recent; it dates back to only 1997. Among its production areas is the reminiscent medieval village of Brisighella which is gently perched amid rocky pinnacles.
Colli di Faenza wines
Among the various vines used for the production of the Colli di Faenza DOC wines, the principal ones are:
Chardonnay,
Pinot bianco,
Trebbiano romagnolo,
Cabernet sauvignon,
Sangiovese.
Characteristics
White wines are served at a temperature between 8° C and 10° C and go well with characteristic first courses such as passatelli and tortellini. Red wines are to be served between 16 and 18° C and go hand in hand with cold cuts, lasagna and hard cheeses.
