The story of the wines of Romagna, told by prominent international speakers with twenty or so wineries from the region.

Consorzio Vini di Romagna will be at the 54th edition of Vinitaly in Verona (April 10th through 13th – Hall 1, stand C7-C8-D13), the world’s most important event for the world of wine, back after a two-year break due to the pandemic.

The Consortium will bring 22 of its member wineries to hall 1, presented by Enoteca Regionale Emilia Romagna, organising numerous events and initiatives telling the story of the wines of Romagna. In response to the growing production of, and interest in, the wines of the Romagna Sangiovese DOC sub-zones, the programme of events will include a masterclass about a decade of sub-zones held by Gabriele Gorelli, Master of Wine, the first and only Italian to have achieved this prestigious title (Tuesday, April 12th). Two more events focus specifically on dry Romagna Albana DOCG (Sunday, April 10th) and Romagna Sangiovese Superiore DOC (Wednesday, April 13th), presented by a sommelier from Alto Adige, Andrè Senoner, winner of the 2020 Master of Albana award. From Master to Master, on Monday, April 11th Vinitaly hosts the Master of Sangiovese, a prestigious national competition for sommeliers of the Italian Sommelier Association, AIS, with the participation of twenty or so candidates from various parts of Italy.

There will also be a group tasting counter for DOP and IGP wines – including Novebolle sparkling wines – to offer the public and, above all, professional visitors a wide-ranging overview of the wines of Romagna, from Rimini to Imola, as well as, of course, the provinces of Forlì-Cesena and Ravenna.

We’re happy to see the resumption of industry events such as Vinitaly, which are essential for our work. This is really good news for the world of wine. Now more than ever, we need to support our wineries in the promotion of our territory. We have a lot of surprises in store, such as the story of the wines that have made history in the region, presented by prominent personalities,” remarks Consorzio Vini di Romagna President Ruenza Santandrea.

The wineries that will be at Vinitaly with Consorzio Vini di Romagna are:

Branchini and Assirelli Cantina da Vittorio, both of Dozza; La Sabbiona and Spinetta of Faenza; Tenuta Uccellina of Russi; Villa Papiano of Modigliana; Poggio della Dogana of Terra del Sole; La Collina del Tesoro of Forlì; Fattoria Nicolucci of Predappio; Piccolo Brunelli of Galeata; Bissoni, Celli, Fattoria Paradiso, Giovanna Madonia, Tenuta La Viola, and Tenuta Villa Trentola of Bertinoro; Galassi Maria of Paderno di Cesena; Cantina Sociale di Cesena, Domini Glicine and Zavalloni of Cesena; and Cantina Braschi and Tenuta Casali, both of Mercato Saraceno.
